PENTA INTRODUCES NEW ONLINE MARKETING TECHNOLOGIES FOR FINANCIAL SERVICES INDUSTRIES

Toronto, ON, January 15th, 2005 - Mississauga based Penta Communications is announcing the launch of Saveastamp.com "Save a Stamp" and Ve-mail, powerful new interactive marketing technologies for the financial services industries that improve customer retention and response rates. Saveastamp.com, a low-cost online e-mail marketing technology, helps marketers expand their customer database and retention rates through tracking of responses to produce the most effective and measurable e-mail marketing campaigns. Ve-mail permits video programs and pre-recorded events from 20 seconds to two hours in duration to be sent and viewed via e-mail without fear of clogging a recipient's inbox.

Saveastamp.com specifically provides the wholesalers and packagers of investment products with the ability to understand how brokers and other targets are responding to their messages-how many times the end recipient has read the e-mail and how many times that recipient has visited websites or hyperlinks within the e-mail. With a target mailing of 10,000 recipients, the unit cost per target can be as low as ten cents.

As Jeff Lucyk, sales manager for Main Street Capital, states, "Saveastamp.com is a very cost-effective advertising and marketing tool. We use it for press releases, notices and invitations to seminars. It's great information. You can find out who is reading what and how many times they return to it. That is the key to follow up and future marketing strategies as it helps to refine our messages, based on the responses."

For investment product marketers like Lucyk, just sending out a mass mailing isn't enough anymore. "We have a database of 10,000 names," he adds, "It is costly to access it unless we have a return on investment and with Saveastamp.com's low unit cost, the savings is remarkable. We used to send out packages that cost $11 each, including printing, postage and distribution. We had no idea whether brokers read them or not or whether they went right into the round file. What this product has given us is seamless integration with the marketing campaign as opposed to having inputs from different sources and not understanding which worked and which didn't. We know exactly which investment executives were reading specific parts of our mailings-and that is very valuable."

Calling Saveastamp.com, a "leading edge marketing tool," Lucyk says "it gives financial marketers seamless integration" and turns target audiences "from suspects to prospects." Lucyk cites his use of numerous other electronic products in financial services marketing that augments his online prospecting. These include CD-ROMs instead of printed pieces. "They are much less costly and contain a wealth of information," he adds.

Jit Mistry, Vice President, Business Development, Jovian Capital, has used the Saveastamp.com technology for marketing mutual funds and related products to investment advisers. As a result of Saveastamp.com, Mistry believes that his success rate for converting business has risen by at least 15%. Jovian maintains a list of about 5,000 names mostly from internal sources. They are pre-identified bona fide targets, not spam e-mails. Mistry stated that previous e-mail marketing efforts left out an essential element that is the main strength of Saveastamp.com: the ability to understand exactly what parts of the e-mail and how many times the marketing target has read specific parts of the messages. "Saveastamp.com is something quite unique, " Mistry said. "If you are providing an essential service to the financial community, then you want to supply exactly the information that investment advisers benefit from most. You want to maximize their productivity and selling ability by providing the best and most targeted information possible. Saveastamp.com allows that."

Once Jovian receives reports of responses to his Saveastamp.com e-mails, Mistry then provides the leads to his sales staff so that they can make reference to which parts the recipients have responded to and suggest various precisely targeted investment products. "Video email or Ve-mail is also a very powerful direct marketing tool that smart financial product marketers are deploying in conjunction with Saveastamp.com," commented Frank Kordy, director, Penta Communications. "Video email receives a much higher open rate than regular email because it's a more appealing way of presenting information to the viewer. Adding video's emotional impact to the interactive e-mail technology, potential and ability is greatly enhanced, especially in the financial services industry."

Kordy noted that Ve-mail files average less than 20k, the equivalent of a standard one-page text e-mail. Large PDF files with embedded video, audio and imagery (to more than 10MB) can also be attached, with the total size of the message remaining under 20k. "Two problems are therefore solved," Kordy said. "Learning about targets' responses and allowing them to view impactful imagery without causing congestion in their mailbox."
